Plan Of Action
Now that we know the issues that have been facing the NFL, along with other levels of football and this concussion crisis, what can the NFL and other levels of football start doing about this issue? First of all, leagues can start improving the stability and padding of their helmets. They can also make sure they check for concussions on a regular basis, and sit all players, not just half of the players, out of games who are diagnosed. The additional padding will provide additional protection for the players once they make contact. The regular checkups can restrict the players from making their injuries more severe and make it less likely for them to suffer from CTE later in life. My plan of action is to make sure you get in contact with the principal and Dekalb County School members and express your concerns about improving the headgear and playing conditions. Having discussions with those who have a great influence, can be a big help in making progress. We can also start online petitions for better playing conditions in for NFL and collegiate players. This is a great way to raise awareness on the issue and get people’s attention. Also, talk to coaches at Dunwoody to have an idea as to what they do when players get concussions and how they are handled, along with ways they can improve the amount of protection for the players. The next step is to remain vocal on this issue. Use social media platforms and interact with players, coaches, and other football fans on this issue to continue the conversation. Finally, keep yourself informed and continue to do research on concussions and CTE and how the issue is being addressed on all levels. If we stick to this plan, we can help change the way the health of these players are being handled. If we continue to ignore this issue, players will continue to suffer from this terrible disease and the NFL, along with other levels of football, will continue to push it off to the side. This needs to be treated seriously. The well-being of these players is no laughing matter. Concussions and CTE and the way it has been handled in football, is a major problem affecting the lives of many people. Continue to do research and get in contact with others on how to make progress on this issue. The future of football and the lives of many are depending on it.
